Obituary  -  Avis de décès

Orest Stephen Roscoe

28 April 1932 - 6 May 2016

With profound sadness we announce the peaceful and unexpected passing of Orest at the age of 84 on Friday, May 6, 2016, surrounded by family.

Beloved husband of Joan (nee Bower) for 57 years. Loving father of Robin (Ian), Stephen (Lucy) and David (Diane). Proud and cherished grandfather of Mike, Christine, Scott, Johnathan, Alina, Alex and Fiona. He will be sadly missed by his brothers Ray (Diane) and Al (Ann), his many nieces and nephews as well as friends here and around the world.

Orest attended the University of Manitoba, earning a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and for forty years contributed greatly to Canada's renown as a leader in Satellite Communications. His work took him around the world which included living in Norway and Japan.

Orest always said that growing up on a farm was the best education because it taught you to find solutions. In his spare time he enjoyed curling, skiing, golfing, reading, gardening and building. Orest was a kind and gentle man who gave of himself to his family, community and church, volunteering countless hours, thankful for his many blessings.

Friends may call at Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Friday, May 13, 2016 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Christ Church Anglican, Bells Corners, 3861 Old Richmond Road at 11 a.m., followed by a reception.
