Installed in 1904 by a young american engineer by the name of Joseph Barridon and his assistant Hugh Lyle, it operated for 53 consecutive years. When Fame Point was replaced by a new station at Rivière aux Renards, (Fox River), Lloyd was the first OIC there.
Lloyd later came to Montreal as a radio inspector and ended his career at Ottawa Headquarters.
