I joined DOT in the Quebec Region as an RO when the ink was still wet on my 2nd Class Certificate. After the Weather course and Aeronautical communications course at ASTS Ottawa airport (RO12) I was posted to Lac Eon from there I went to VCF MAR 63-67, VCC MAR 67-70, VFF MAR 70-73 as shift spvr. Then Regional Office Dorval 73-78 as Standards officer and Regional Supervisor Operations for the latter 2 years, then Telecommunications Area Manager Frobisher 1 year and TAM Mirabel 79-84.
In 1984 I was still in the system as a PM within the T&E branch responsible for both RO and EL activities.
In 1986 I was appointed as the Regional Superintendant Flight Service Station Operations within Air Traffic Services as an RO-7.
I spent the last two years in that same position with Nav Canada. I retired in 1998 after 37.5 years combined service.
