After 34 years of service with the Government of Canada, John Lochner will be retiring on March 30, 2006.

John initially joined the Department of Communications as a Radio Inspector Recruit working for the Toronto District office. A job opportunity in the private sector took John away for a few years, however, the Department was fortunate to be able to bring John back on strength as a fully trained Radio Inspector.

John later transferred to the Hamilton District office, Hamilton, Ontario and presently works from the Central and Western Ontario District Office work location in Burlington, Ontario. During his career John was seconded to the Regional office in the position of our Technical Training Officer and was also our lead Regional resource person who was tasked with coordinating the frequency selection for the Fleetnet network in support of the province wide Government Mobile Radio System.

John has been a valuable resource within the region and we will truly miss his presence, expertise and sense of humour around the office.

Après 34 ans de service avec le Gouvernement du Canada, John Lochner va prendre sa retraite le 30 mars, 2006.

John a commencé sa carrière avec le Ministère des communications comme inspecteur de radio en formation avec le bureau de district de Toronto.  Ensuite, John a prit un emploi dans le secteur privé pour quelques années, et a retourné au Ministère dans le poste d'inspecteur de radio.

John a ensuite transféré au bureau de district de Hamilton et travaille couramment avec le bureau de district du centre et de l'ouest de l'Ontario, à Burlington.  Durant sa carrière, John a travaillé avec le bureau régional de l'Ontario dans le poste d'Agent de la formation technique et était aussi la personne clé dans la région de l'Ontario qui était responsable de coordonner la sélection de fréquences pour le réseau Fleetnet, en faveur du système de radio du gouvernement de la province de l'Ontario.

John a été une ressource importante dans la région et nous allons manquer sa présence, son expertise et son sens d'humour autour du bureau.

Nous lui souhaitons les meilleurs voeux et de bon temps à venir.
