Passed
away in Ottawa January 11, 2011 in his 93rd year. He is survived by his wife of
68 years Constance (Hunt) and children Barbara and Christopher (Lesley), of
Ottawa. He will be missed by grandchildren Tyler (Tara), Jessica and Melissa
(James Liboiron) and great-grandchildren Maximilian, Freya and Daniel. Lloyd is
survived by his sister Shelagh of Brockville and is predeceased by brothers
Lionel and Beverly and sisters Lorraine and Betty, all having spent their lives
in Muskoka.
After graduating from Port Carling Continuation
School on the first day of the 2nd World War, he completed a Radio Operating
Course and spent the following wartime year in the Merchant Marine as the
"Sparks" on a Netherlands cargo vessel. On return from sea, he had a 35-year
career in the Federal Department of Transport.
Following retirement in 1976,
Lloyd pursued his passion for the outdoors at the family cottage at Ashby Lake
and through his painting of birds and wildlife subjects. Many of Lloyd's bird
pictures are distributed among friends worldwide.
Friends may visit at the
Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline Rd.
and Bayshore Dr.) on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 10 a.m. until service time
in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Capital Memorial Gardens
3700 Hwy 16 (Prince of Wales). Donations in memoriam may be made to the Canadian
